Short Hills

Leaving the city and moving to the suburbs is one of those coming of age steps that can feel like you’ve thrown in the proverbial towel! The city is fun and exciting, with everything to do while the suburbs roll up the sidewalks at 8 p.m. At least that’s the stereotype. But if you’re looking at Millburn-Short Hills homes, it’s not the reality at all.

There is much to do near Millburn-Short Hills homes. There are great restaurants (and many new) in downtown Millburn. One of my personal favorites is Cara Mia, a family owned Italian place that’s right around the corner from The Paper Mill Playhouse. The Common Lot, on 27 Main St has been included in the NJ Monthly Top 25 Best Restaurants for 2016! Grab a bagel at The Bagel Chateau also known as Goldberg’s Famous Deli or a Sloppy at The Millburn Deli. There are also many art galleries to browse. People who live in Millburn-Short Hills homes get to take advantage of great events, as well. In April, there is the annual Street Fair with music, food, and a wide selection of gorgeous artisan-crafted art. Over the summer, enjoy the Fourth of July gala and the summer Farmers Market taking place on Tuesday’s 9am-3pm Main & Essex Street.

Commuting

No one living in Millburn-Short Hills homes lacks for something to do in town. But if there’s a great event in New York you don’t want to miss, it’s just a 35-minute train ride away.

We have 2 train stations in Millburn. One is located at 35 Essex St. in Millburn and the other is at 35 Chatham Rd. in Short Hills. Parking is on a first come, first served basis. Commuter Permits: Annual, $510, Semi-Annual, $375, Annual second car, $600, semi-annual second car, $425. and are issued by the Tax Collector at Millburn Town Hall, 375 Millburn Avenue, Millburn, 07041. Schools

In Millburn-Short Hills there is a high standard of living, so of course the Millburn Short Hills schools are kept to the highest standards as well. In the 2015 Niche ranking of the best public schools in the state of New Jersey, Millburn schools were #1 in the state, with Short Hills being #2. A Blue Ribbon School, Millburn High School has also been nationally recognized by Newsweek as the 69th best in the US 2014 and for 2015 we moved up to 13th in America. The 2015 ranking showing Best High School Teachers in America with an A+ RATING. New reports are just coming out for 2016 with The Millburn Middle School being ranked Best Public School in America. This notoriety is shown in high academic achievement for Millburn-Short Hills students, with almost 97% of graduating seniors proceeding to attend a four-year university, and the challenging curriculum including courses such as: AP Calculus BC, Advanced Robotics, Discrete Mathematics, Astrophysics, Genetics, Modern Dramatic Literature, and AP Chinese. If that’s not all, Millburn High School also excels athletically, with the boys tennis team winning the last two NJ State Tournament of Champions.
